The event will be held on a southern part of the famous Holowiliena station and into part of the South Holowiliena station, both of which have been continuously run by the Warwick family since the mid 1800s. This will be a bush camp event located on the banks of the Arcoota Creek.
For those that are not inclined to camp, limited accommodation is available 7 kms away at the Holowiliena homestead (email Frances at holowiliena@activ.net.au or check the website for more details at www.holowilienastation.com) and let Frances know that you are competing in the Rogaine event.
The event site is located approximately 40 kms East of Cradock (which is on the RM Williams Highway) and approximately 375 kms from Gepps Cross. There is approximately 40 kms of a government non-sealed road, suitable for caravans and 2-wheel drive vehicles to get to the event site.
The location will provide you with a lot of rolling hills, wide creek beds with towering ancient river gum trees, a waterfall or two and a number of not normally accessible historical landmarks, as well as the hospitality of the SARA volunteer Hash House crew. The event site will be open on Friday 16th May and close on Monday the 19th of May.
