We’re going back to the south-east of the state. Come and explore the lush, green expanse of the Limestone Coast and take the opportunity to explore the Caves and the Wonambi Fossil Centre. Why not take an extra day and check out the Sheep’s Back Museum, Mini Jumbuck, Struan House, local wine areas, and the internationally important Ramsar listed wetlands at Bool Lagoon.
An exciting new rogaining area, Naracoorte, only 330km south of Adelaide. This time you have 24 hours to complete either 15 or 8 hours roving. Simply, you clock in and out as you choose, but don’t go over your allocated time! The strategy will be how best to use your valuable time.
This is an event not to be missed.
Can’t come down Friday night? Arrive Saturday and start whenever you’re ready (after the official times) and still have time to complete the event. Eight-hour participants can compete using all daylight hours or venture out after sunset under a magnificent full moon and enjoy some night navigation.
For the serious competitors the temptation to clean up the course with two well-calculated loops with time to rest in between. How will you use your allotted time? Will your team come up with a better strategy than other teams?
Both roving options enable you to spend the maximum time on the course and still have plenty of time to:
- indulge in the full range of delicious home-cooked food on offer at the Hash House
- enjoy the social atmosphere and warmth around the campfire (including free marshmallows)
- rub shoulders with fellow rogainers as they take time off the course
- reconsider or refine your second loop
- revive body and mind with a good nights rest
- tackle the second day refreshed after a hearty breakfast
- mentor and night training sessions will depart from the hash house on Saturday night [7-9pm]
Roving 15 HR: Competitors have a maximum of 15 hours on the course in a 24 hour period, from 12.00 noon Saturday to 12.00 noon Sunday with options to start and stop anytime during the 24 hours or compete continuously.
Roving 8 HR: Competitors have a maximum of 8 hours on the course in a 20 hour period, from 2.00pm Saturday to 10.00am Sunday with options to start and stop anytime during the 20 hours or compete continuously.
