It is our pleasure to invite you to attend the SARA State Championships 24-hour or roving 12-hour at an old favourite, Bendleby Station, on 27 and 28 June. Explore gum-lined creeks, ridgelines and stands of callitris forest on rugged hills. Go out for the full 24-hours or take a casual afternoon stroll in the winter sunshine, returning for hot food by the fire in the evening. There are plenty of controls near the hash house (start/finish/Admin/camping area) for those wanting a cruisy weekend or to ensure your kids want to come back next time! For teams wanting to go further afield, we are planning navigation and route choice challenges in the ranges. You will also need precision with distance and direction on the plains. If you need further convincing, read the following comments from a member of the organising team about her experience of Bendleby:

‘Hiking in the Bendleby Ranges feels like stepping into deep time, where ancient ridgelines rise from an arid, weathered land. The air is dry and clear, the silence vast, and every hilltop reveals sweeping views carved by millions of years. Remote and uncompromisingly beautiful, the landscape inspires a quiet awe—an enduring reminder of nature’s patience and power.’
As a special treat, there are going to be showers included in the event entry fee!
Our events cannot run without volunteers! There are plenty of ways you can help while still entering the event. Or think about helping in the Admin tent.
